Previous British Broadcasting Corporation Consultants Participate in MPs' Inquiry Following Allegations of Prejudice in Disclosed Memorandum
We begin with queries from Conservative MP the panel's head, that chairs the panel.
She commences by giving background to the disclosed memorandum written by Michael Prescott and released in the Telegraph.
"It is not my wish for the BBC leaning toward one side or the other, I just want it neutral, fair and just," he states.
When asked whether he thinks the BBC is institutionally biased, Prescott replies: "No, I do not. To be clear, a great deal the BBC produces is top-tier - both informative and non-factual shows."
But he adds: "There is substantial tasks that must be undertaken at the British Broadcasting Corporation."
Another ex-adviser British Broadcasting Corporation specialist interviewed by the committee, Caroline Daniel, states she takes the British Broadcasting Corporation extremely earnestly and that it has a "persistent practice and lively discussion" on dynamic and complex subjects.
"Whether the BBC was willing to conduct a genuine discussion and debate and act accordingly?" she asks herself. "In my view, affirmative, they were."
